Only problem is we have 3 ipod docks scattered around the house. I picked up a PodSocket from SparkFun and soldered it to a Belkin Bluetooth stereo receiver.

The bluetooth takes 5v from a wall wart, and I didn’t want to have to have yet another device that needs to be plugged in, so I wanted to use the charging power of the dock to power the bluetooth. Unfortunately it looks like some docks provide the 5v (usb) power, and some provide the 12v (firewire legacy) power. Naturally, I discovered this after cutting and soldering the power cable. For some reason I haven’t figured out yet the audio is extremely quiet on the surround sound in the living room, but is just fine on all the other docks in the house.

We have an old hitch mounted bike rack, so I figured maybe it could be adapted to do this. Screwed together a few pieces of 2×8 that were left over from deck building last summer, add a few 50 lb bags of sand I used to keep in the trunk of the mustang during the winter, and now we have an easily storable, and movable bike stand.
